MONCTON, NB - The architectural firm of Architecture 2000 Inc.,
Moncton, NB, has received an Honourable Mention Award for the
Cumberland County RCMP Detachment, Amherst, NS, in the 2005 NSAA
Lieutenant Governor Design Awards. The award
was presented at Pier 21 in Halifax on May 10, 2007.
This project was commissioned by Public Works General Services
Canada and was previously awarded the “Deputy Minister’s Award
of Excellence”, internally.
The Amherst RCMP building introduces a new prototype, which
reflects the RCMP relationship with the public and a healthy,
productive working environment. It demonstrates integrated
design through sustainable practices, including day lighting and
natural ventilation strategies, wind turbine generated energy
and the use of native materials.
